I am a Physiotherapist with advanced level skills, qualifications and leadership experience in both Musculoskeletal health and Occupational Health. My approach is both pragmatic and professional, an art and a science. I am up to date and informed by the evidence base, I clincally reason what is relevant and I understand people are at the heart of good health and work. After 25 years of leadership in both healthcare and industry I have set up my own business, Joint Works to deliver expert lead, customer focussed and joined up  Musculoskeletal Health, Occupational Health and Ergonomics services.

Employment History

June 2023 – present           Owner and Director of Joint Works, Health and Wellbeing

I deliver on-site and remote Occupational Health Physiotherapy Services for businesses and provide consultancy and wellbeing services. By providing Occupational Health expertise at point of clinical care and within businesses our services provide fast, focussed and functional results at optimal value.

Nov 2002 – June 2023       Head of Musculoskeletal Health and Physiotherapy, TfL

I led the Musculoskeletal Health and Physiotherapy Services under the OH Team leadership of Dr Olivia Carlton OBE, ex SOM and FOM president. I developed my team to adopt a holistic health and work approach to improve function and wellbeing of 30000 staff in support, operational and safety critical roles. I was accountable to the business for fast access physiotherapy and fitness for work advice, and I never missed a KPI. We delivered value by enabling a faster return to work and by keeping people in work. I led the Health and Wellbeing Improvement Plan with emphasis on innovative and inclusive approaches to Health by Design, Health Behaviour Change, Work based Condition Management and Line Manager Capability. I led on the DSE Assessment process and was a member of ‘The Adjustments Group’.

I led a Musculoskeletal Outpatients Team of 10 Physiotherapists delivering individual and group-based interventions within an NHS hospital including gym rehab and hydrotherapy.
